Minding the Gap

Hello all, it has been about a month since ES was last updated, and we would like to say, things are getting back to normal here at the ES headquarters, and we are looking forward to contributing regularly to this site.

The Elegant Scoundrel was founded on many principles and ideas, that, until recently, were quite naive. I have posted before about the state of the economy, and how it has impacted ES, but things have never closely been described about how we, the ES team, are making it, and what is happening with the company.

For those who follow this blog as a means to really take a closer look at how a clothing company newly founded is doing, we would like to say some things that it seems other companies dont come out and say.

This economy hurts. Everday, the news all over concetrates on the demise of another business, each time, reinforcing how bad the economy is. And to an extent, they are correct in spelling out the hard economic times that have forced so many into chapter 11, and caused several reputable brands to close up shop.

But in all actuality, this recent economic crisis is showing the globe who the fighters are. Unlike others, who claim that the days of selling $50 shirts are over, I merely think that people have become less cavalier about what they spend their money on, and this has forced a new level of creativity not seen in sometime from the clothing industry. And THAT, is a good thing.

People are being forced to make damn certain that each piece in a collection is SOLID. No one wants to buy things that they even for a second have to question its worth. They want clothes that are timeless, practical, and affordable, and it is the clothing designers obligation to serve the consumer that.

ES has made some product that, although founded with good intentions and a seemingly good idea, the actual gameplan and longevity of the designs were underestimated. That caused us to sink money into a few items that honestly, werent up to snuff.

So we are commited to in the future, bringing you QUALITY, TIMELESS clothing, that you will be proud to spend your hard earned cash on. We dont want to just be another name in the faceless abyss of clothing companies looking to sell to unsuspecting trend humpers. We want to be a brand that people truly feel like they belong to, a collection of clothing for people who want their clothing to speak for them and what they are, and what they represent.

We are a team of Artists, Musicians, Business people, and our mission, is to make clothing that you will be proud to wear. So stay tuned, there is much, much more to come from The Elegant Scoundrel
